Skin Saviours

In the winter months I have one big problem when it comes to my skin - the weather sucks the life and moisture out of my complexion and leaves my face feeling dry, tired and dull. Switching up my moisturiser can make a massive difference. I’ve been busy investigating some of the most versatile and innovative moisturisers on the market, to help save winter skin.

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel SPF 15

This moisturiser was perfect for everyday use, especially since it contains SPF, and is very versatile. In a busy day and age, where pollution and environmental factors can be damaging, Clarins is using a key ingredient ‘callicarpa japonica’ to help revive skin. Light in texture and in scent, it made my skin feel very soft. I did need to top up later in the day but it's still a lovely product.

50ML £32.25, VOISINS

Darphin Hydraskin Rich All Day Cream

This rich formula (there are also light and gel options) is ideal for dry skin. It sinks in well and because of the hydra-structure technology, which sources its key ingredients from nature, it felt luxurious without feeling sticky or overwhelming. 50ML £30.50, DE GRUCHY

Lancôme Energie De Vie Day Cream

This water-infused day cream is part of a new range by Lancôme. Formulated with cranberry, ginseng, lemon balm and vitamin E, the day cream is very light and leaves skin with a dewy look and feel. It is fast acting to help energise your skin, perfect for dull winter days. Not overly perfumed, this felt like a great moisturiser to be part of an everyday routine. 50ML £38.80, DE GRUCHY

La Prairie Skin Caviar Absolute Filler

Containing the renowned Caviar Absolute concentrate, this cream from the indulgent Swiss brand was lighter than I'd thought it would be. It comes with a hefty price-tag, but this really did feel like a treat for my skin. It sunk into my skin like a dream and I felt my face was soft and moisturised all day. My skin even looked different – more luscious. Long term, this moisturiser promises to restore tone and density for enhanced skin fullness.

60ML £358.75, DE GRUCHY

Bobbi Brown Face Base

I loved this product. Maybe not for everyone, as it’s heavily perfumed, but wow, what a smell. I felt refreshed just from the scent. Enriched with vitamins for the ultimate plumped up skin, it is ideal to use as a daily base before makeup. A beauty shelf staple.

50ML £37.50, VOISINS

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion de Rose Nourishing Crème & Nourishing Oil

These two wonder products really bring out the best in each other. I was wary about using oil on my face as I thought it could be clogging, however, I felt my skin looked even more glowy when I used a little of the rose oil with the crème, although the crème would stand on its own as a daily moisturiser too. The oil was fast absorbing and non-greasy. whilst the moisturiser felt hydrating and brightening. And the subtle rose scent - amazing. CREME 50ML £47, VOISINS | OIL 30ML £37.25, VOISINS
