From fashion and beauty to home decor, there are a wealth of Earth-friendly alternatives out there.
Shelljon
A home-grown project inspired by nature, cultivating arts and culture with a force for change on a global scale. Shelljon is a Jersey based, online eco-clothing store with an artistic approach to sustainable fashion. Soft, humbling bamboo fibres and fresh organic cotton materials all ethically sourced from their partnering farm in Bali. Along with an expansive range of t-shirt designs and organic wear, they also supply an eco-friendly face mask alternative.
Rocque Paper Scissors
How do you like your paper? Handmade, recycled, plantable? Turning recycled paper into pulp, Kat Read of Rocque Paper Scissors, presses and dries every sheet of paper she makes in her Grouville Studio.
Kat started making paper this past summer. Unable to leave the house in the first lockdown, various cardboard boxes started to pile up from deliveries. Realising the island’s recycling is shipped back to the UK to be recycled, she set out to make something beautiful while adding to the circular economy in Jersey. This spring she has created a series of plantable stationary - letter sets embedded with seeds, that can be planted in the garden.
When she is not pressing paper, Kat loves to create custom paper cut prints such as houses based on a photo of your own home. These paper cut prints are made with high quality sustainably sourced paper.
